What does this year's convention have for you?

The Utah Association of Special Districts (UASD) is the only statewide association that represents all Special Districts (17B) and Special Service Districts (17D).  This year's convention will focus on issues of importance to districts providing all types of services including irrigation, drainage, mosquito, water, solid waste, cemetery, electric, fire protection and EMS, animal control, transit, transportation, parks and recreation, healthcare, sewer, police protection, 911 emergency dispatch, street lighting, municipal services, and flood control.

Those Who Should Attend include board members, management, and staff.  By attending the Wednesday board governance training sessions, board members will fulfill the statutory requirement to receive training on the open meetings law each year.  In addition, board members elected or appointed within the past year, and those who have never received this training, will fulfill the statutory requirement to receive the training prepared by the State Auditor's Office in conjunction with the UASD.  A representative from the State Auditors Office will be present to provide live training and to interact with attendees.  All district board members must receive this expanded training at least once during each term of office.

The Wednesday training sessions have been structured to provide your district with expanded training opportunities for key employees, as well as board members and management.  Training sessions include sessions tailored to train and inform records officers on new and current issues..

Please join us on Wednesday evening for food, friends, and networking at the Welcome Reception!
